NEW YORK – At the least one individual was killed and two injured after a shooter opened fireplace inside a supervisor’s workplace at a Lengthy Island grocery retailer Tuesday, police stated.

Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder named Gabriel DeWitt Wilson as an individual of curiosity within the capturing and advised reporters the suspect fled the scene on the Cease and Store in West Hempstead, New York, heading west on a turnpike.

Ryder stated the suspect, a Black man, was wearing all black and believed to be armed with a small handgun. He stated the person could also be a present or former worker of the grocery retailer.

The individual killed was a 49-year-old retailer worker, Ryder stated. A pair hundred customers had been inside the shop, and the capturing occurred inside an upstairs supervisor’s workplace, he stated.

Police tweeted a photograph of Wilson and requested the general public to name 911 in the event that they noticed him.
